Two setups here. For the Dumbbell: 1. Check the String which tethers the weight. 2. Move balls an equal distance from the center. 3. Wind up the string on metal wheel. 4. Release the weights and observe the speed. 5. Repeat procedure at different distances from center.
For the spheres on rod: (apparatus consists of tube with two balls of different masses. masses are connected by a string which is threaded through the tube) 1. Check the string which joins the two metal balls. 2. Rotating the smaller ball faster raises the larger ball.
