A. 1. Fill two beakers with tap water and let it stand overnight to remove any turbulence or air bubbles. 2. Remove any bubbles on glass surface using a stir stick. 3. Alternately, distilled water can be used. Method: 1. Fill small syringe with ink (avoid air bubbles). 2. Insert the needle under the water surface and slowly eject ink. 3. Observe the diffusion of the ink during the lecture period.
B.
1. Place petri dish on overhead projector 2. Fill dish with distilled water using the 50cc syringe 3. Fill a 1ml syringe with ink. 4. Place the needle near the bottom of the dish and slowly eject ink (about 1cm diameter spot). 5. Observe the ink spot diffuse during the lecture period.
