Force Between Two Current Carrying Coils

Description:

1. Connect as shown. 
2. Turn power supply to 12 volts - 10 amps. 
3. Adjust upper coil so it just touches lower coil.
Note: Use the wooden slot platform to position the coil so that the top of the coil is near the top of the solid core.

Method:
1. Turn on power supply. 
2. Observe attractive force between the current carrying coils. 
3. Reverse input lead on bottom coil. 
4. Observe the repulsive force between them.
