Description:

Pyrex glass has an index of refraction of 1.47, water has an index of refraction of 1.33, and canola oil has a refractive index of about 1.47 depending on the brand. All three materials are transparent. A bottle has water and a Pyrex test tube with water in it. Another bottle has about 50ml of canola oil in it, with a second Pyrex test tube containing a small amount of canola oil. Observe the test tubes as you immerse them in their respective bottles.
