Interference (Using Microwaves)
Description:
1. Connect as shown 2. The amplifier and speaker are placed on a trolley so that they can be moved easily 3. Use the string and wooden staff for alignment 4. Allow a few minutes warm up time for the microwave transmitter power supply 5. Adjust the microwave attenuator on transmitter for maximum transmission 6. Adjust the amplifier volume so that the maxima and minima can be distinguished throughout the lecture hall. 7. Movement of the receiver in a horizontal plane should indicate minima at interval of about 30 degrees with respect to the normal 1. Move receiver from side to side and listen to the maximum and minimum interference patterns. |
